	Welcome to Coach Harwood Basketball Camp.


		Camp Director - Coach Harwood

	Dan Harwood is currently the boys head coach at Magruder High School. He has been coaching and teaching physical education 29 years the last 23 at Magruder. Coach Harwood has been the Montgomery County coach of the year five times and was the Washington Post Coach of the Year in 2001. Magruder won their 2nd State Championship last season, finishing 26-1. Coach Harwood brings his experience as a player, camp counselor and father of four children to make his camps the best choice for all levels of players. He played first collegiately at Montgomery College-Rockville and then at Boston University for Rick Pitino, currently the coach at the University of Louisville.


	MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR

My basketball camp will mirror my basketball program here at school. I want players to have so much fun that they won’t want to stop playing. The more they play, the more they will improve their basketball skills and the more they will enjoy the game of basketball. To get better, players must develop three things: Shooting form, ball handling and moves. These skills are essential in order to compete against superior players or athletes. I look forward to seeing you this summer.

COACH HARWOOD HAS HAD 41 PLAYERS FROM MAGRUDER PLAY COLLEGE BASKETBALL AND FIVE PLAY PROFESSIONALLY.

Currently, Isaiah Swann is playing in Turkey and Pele Paelay is playing in Isreal.
